You start out as clean as a newborn babe, and throughout the run, you’ll be blasted with bright colors from our Color Bombers until your face, shirt, and body come out silkscreened like a tie-dyed hippy on the other side. Each section of the run adds a new explosion of color to your clean, painter’s palate until you cross the finish line looking like a pack of skittles.
We want to help! In fact, this Beginner 5K Plan will transform you from a couch potato to 5K runner in just two months. Each session should take about 20 or 30 minutes, three times a week. Before setting out, make sure to precede each training session with a 5 minute warmup walk or jog. Be sure to stretch both before and after. Now, go lace up your running shoes and get to steppin!
NO WAY! You can walk, jog, run, crawl, skip, or dance the 5k.  The race isn’t timed so just come ready to have fun and get covered in color. If you do want to know your 5k time, you best bring your own stopwatch.
The color is super safe and is basically the consistency of powdered sugar. This is non-toxic, non-rash-inducing, colored corn-starch. Processed in the good ol’ US of A, these blasts of starch will change your color, and your demeanor, but never your level of wellness.
The color does mostly wash out after the event, but some of it can stain. As with anything, the sooner you wash it the better. We suggest wearing items that you wouldn’t mind getting the color on. If you want to preserve the color in your shirt, spray it with vinegar and iron it before you wash it.
No age limit! Come young, come old!
Yes, kids love to get colored just as much as the rest of us. Kids 5 and under are free, but will not receive a shirt. Strollers, and wheelchairs are welcome! We do recommend that your kids are properly protected with sunglasses, and for toddlers and infants, maybe even something to cover their mouth.
Nope, sorry. Our races are pet free.
Besides getting the most colorful experience of your life in this most amazing 5k, you’ll also receive a swag Color PHor A Cure 5K bag and shirt, race bib, color packet, and any promo materials that local sponsors might include.
Absolutely! Whether you have family, co-workers, workout buddies…you can sign up as a team, pick a team name and run the race together. Many teams make their own t-shirts with their team name or come in costume. You can register as a team at the “Register” part of this page.
Can’t make it? Are you crazy?! You can’t afford to miss this! Unfortunately it’s impossible for us to offer refunds. You can still pick up your packet and race goodies, or you can transfer your registration to someone else up to 1 week prior to the event.
Check out the race page two weeks before the race to download important race docs like, dates, times, and locations of packet pickup. When you come you’ll need your personal identification.
The race begins at 9AM, and then we’ll release waives of 500 people every 5 minutes. We highly recommend you getting there 1 hour early so you have plenty of time to park and stretch!
Of course! Bring your friends and family to come cheer you on. Just be sure to give them a big hug at the finish line for coming to support you!
No timing chips, but you will have the “time of your life”!
You will be a part of the best color finale you have ever experienced. Every 15 – 20 minutes everyone will grab their Color packs and pummel each other until you’re black and blue (from corn starch – no real bruising will occur). There will be music and other color doused participants welcoming you across the finish line with open arms.
For sins: we’d recommend repentance and confession. For color: we’d recommend soap, cold water, and perseverance. After the party if you want to dust yourself off before going home, hit up one of our “blow” stations where we will do our best to blow you clean. You may want to bring a towel or plastic garbage bag to put in your car for the ride home.
We will have photographers taking pictures during and after the 5k but if you want to get some sweet pics in the midst of all that color goodness, we recommend using a plastic baggy or plastic wrap to keep your devices color free.
